The Swiss platform for High-Performance and High-Productivity Computing (HP2C) aims at developing applications to run at scale and make efficient use of the next generation of supercomputers to be available in the 2013/14 timeframe.

All members of Swiss universities and other institutions that are supported by the Federal Government through the Swiss University Act, are eligible to receive financial support from the HP2C project.

A first tier of projects will start in December 2009 and will be run through the end of 2012. Projects that are considered to have high scientific potential by the peer review, but are not ready in their present form from a scientific computing point of view, will receive an opportunity to revise the project plan and will be considered in a second tier of projects that will start in late spring/early summer 2010 and run through the end of 2012.
